CTI MARINE SERVICES BECOMES RINA’S APPROVAL OF IHM SUPPLIER

Earlier this month, POLY NDT PTE LTD, a member of CTI Group, trading as CTI Marine Services was proudly received the certificate of Approval of Service Supplier issued by Registro Italiano Navale (RINA) for preparation of Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM).

Based in Italy, RINA provides a wide range of services across the Energy, Marine, Certification, Transport & Infrastructure and Industry sectors. In Marine, authorized to act on behalf of over 116 Flag States, RINA has classified more than 5,500 ships, totalling 44 MGT, and more than 1,300 yachts, and RINA is 1st World ranked for ferries classification.

On 8 May 2019, CTI Marine Serviceswas officially recognized or authorized by RINA, which is less than a month from when the company was accredited by Korean Register (KR).Being recognised / authorise by eight (8) major IACS members; DNV-GL, ClassNK, ABS, LR, BV, CCS, KR and latest RINA, CTI Marine Service has proven their commitment in keeping up to the standards as an assurance of the quality and capabilities to their clients.

CTI Marine Services is the world's third-party organization for IHM Inspection and Preparation, Hazmat Laboratory Testing, Maritime Hazmat Training and Consultancy, IHM Online Database Maintenance Software, Asbestos Survey for Marine Assets, Asbestos Management/Mitigation/Air Monitoring/ Removal Project Management and Green Ship Recycling Supervision.

The EU-Ship Recycling Regulation was published in the Official Journal 6 of the EU on 10 December 2013 and takes effective on 30 December 2013. From the end of 2020 onwards, the Regulation requires that all EU-visiting or EU-flagged ships have a certified IHM onboard. The deadline is coming up with one year and a half away, and around 30,000 to 40,000 ships will be affected. Under such huge demand and scarce IHM-expert resources, it is highly recommended that ship owners and operators of ships trading to EU ports shall start planning to comply with EU SRR as soon as possible.
